WIP Wednesday
Completed my quilt top Sunday. I used the general principle of Cluck, Cluck, Sew's Strip and Flip Baby Quilt.
I made a few changes, such as adding the solid strip between each print. In this version I cut the solid strips 2 inches and the prints are 2.5 inches. Then, as the name implies, I cut a section and flipped it with a different print strip on either side of the "flipped" section.

Will take it to "Show 'n Tell" at Tampa Modern Quilt Guild on Saturday. Hope they like it. You too. Please leave comments and follow me by email or via Bloglovin.
Pretty pretty!! I really love the solid strips in between! Great top! can't wait to see it finished! ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you. I wanted to baste it this weekend. So far, no go. :)
DeleteI love the colours and the ladder effect in the middle.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Just sew all the strips, then cut out a section and flip it over!
DeleteI love this pattern ~ and your fabrics are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit more challenging than I thought, keeping all of the strips from bowing. Starch is my friend!
DeleteOh, it's lovely! It makes me think of citrus...oranges, lemons and limes. Such a great pattern. Thanks for sharing and have fun at show and tell! Jen
ReplyDeleteThanks, I live in Florida so that fits.
DeleteWhat a bright and happy baby top! I love your addition of the solid strips. Really allows those pretty prints to shine!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful prints. Thanks for stopping by.

I love your version of the strip and flip quilt, Ellen. Adding the solids gives it a totally different feel, making the prints really stand out. Thanks for your lovely comments on my strip and flip quilt. If you are ever looking for somewhere to showcase your quilts, I host an ongoing quilting and patchwork link party...
